Weeping Willow | Original Ink and Watercolor Painting

Weeping Willow is an 11”X14” original ink and watercolor painting signed by the artist. It has been mounted on an acid-free matte and framed in a 16”X20” wooden frame with a plexiglass front to keep it lightweight and durable for transport. Professionally shipped, packaged, and insured. 

This piece is about having a parent with mental health issues and chronic depression. The young girl, naked and vulnerable, is taking shelter under the willow, which is about to engulf her in tears, but she looks up at the tree with compassion and concern. Whereas the tree stares out at the viewer, blind with sorrow. The multiple forms of water, clouds, lake, and tears reflect a flood of emotion that the girl must swim through if she wants to leave her isolated island.
