I aim to design poised moments when something familiar becomes new, even strange. My artistic work is a raven's nest woven meticulously from the shiny elusive filaments that catch and linger in my brain, until they can be set free on the page in draughts of ink and paint and time.
Thematically I delve into the numinous intersect of nature and metaphor. I was born in the North Woods of Wisconsin, and I spent my childhood bowled over by splendor, following streams barefoot to see where they led and keeping grass snakes in jars. Those days studying intricate textures, colors, and patterns with nothing else to do, have seeped into my process and continue to influence everything I create.
